King John to Henry Filmer of East Sutton Park and Beyond

John, King of England b. 1167 d. 1216, buried Worchester Cathedral, Worchester, Eng, and a mistress, Clemence ____, (the wife of Henry Pinel?) had an illegitimate dau: (Some accounts say her mother was Agatha de Ferrers)

Joan of England - Llywelyn Ap Iorwerth, Prince of North Wales, the son of Iorweth ap Owain, Prince of North Wales and Marared (Margaret) verch Madog, dau of Madog ap Maredudd, prince of Powys, was born 1172, possibly in Dolwyddelan Castle in the Lledr Valley, North Wales. Llywelyn married Joan of England in 1205. Their main home was at Garth Celyn between Bangor and Conwy. He died age 68 at the Abbey of Aberconwy (now named St. Mary's, parish church of Conwy) and first buried there. King Edward I destroyed the Abbey in 1283 and the remains of Llywelyn the Great were moved 8 miles away to Maenan. That place was also destroyed and Llywelyn's remains were lost to history but his coffin was found later. His tomb is empty but preserved on the grounds of the  Llanrwst St Grwst's Church in the Gwydir Chapel / Wynn Chapel. Llanrwst is located in the Conwy Valley in Wales.

Joan's stone coffin can be seen in Beaumaris parish church, Anglesey.
